This building commissioned and built in 1990 was intended as an extension for the already existing Fine-Arts Faculty but was assigned to the Faculty of Business Administration right after completion.
The architectural concept extrudes the rhythmic modularity of the Fine-Arts building while inducing a new dynamic to echo the volumetric character of the Faculty of Agriculture (we completed in 1988). It clamps at the corner of the fine arts building by an articulation of a mechanical character, establishing continuity and announcing a different spirit expressed by the large spanning portico designed as a concrete “Vierendeel Truss”.
The picture shows the state of the building before its aspect was altered 10 years later by additions done by other parties.
