The refurbishment of the space of the ground floor vaults at Bkerke was intended and executed in its first edition to the conservation and the exhibition of the manuscripts and the major documents of the Maronite Patriarchate. The collection comprises 500 codices, some dating back to the XIIth century, in addition to Papal Bullae confirming the integration of the Maronite Church to the Holy See (the oldest Bulla dates back to 1215 A.D.) and Firmans from the Ottoman Sultans, from Suleiman the Magnificent onward. Due to the precious nature of these documents, we set the conservation requirements to the most rigorous norms in humidity and temperature regulation and a lighting system free from U.V., specific conservation and showcases were designed accordingly.

Later on, the showcases were duplicated by a third party to transform the space to a personal museum dedicated to the Patriarch.
