The design guidelines of the new roof are set according to the geometric modulation of the Dragon Mart, and the rhythm of its structural system and facades. These guidelines take into consideration the requests of the client and avoid interfering with the usual operation of the mall. To maintain the Dragon semiotics of the existing form, the new roof is articulated in three peaks, following the rhythmic expression of the facade aluminum panels.

The new roof, while having a slightly lower tip, creates a larger better lit space. The amount of light that comes in can be controlled by the patterns on the glass or ETFE panels to reduce solar gain while retaining translucency.
